Allride Japan Powder Trip: 03/02/24 - 11/02/24

Japan Powder Adventure - Rusutsu, Hokkaido:

Have you ever heard of the lightest powder snow in the world?

Exactly! the retreat takes place in Japan, more precisely Hokkaido.

About Hokkaido

Embark on an extraordinary journey to Hokkaido, considered a hidden treasure for those seeking the lightest powder on earth. When cold air masses pass over Russia and collect moisture over the Sea of Japan, an astonishing 20-meter snowfall adorns this region every winter. Due to the good location of the Japanese North Island, temperatures remain constantly below freezing from November to April.whereby the large snow crystals conjure up one of the lightest snow conditions on earth.

Our base "Rusutsu" and its surroundings is probably one of the most snow-constant and varied powder areas in Hokkaido. Also housed in the modern "Cloud 9 Pow Lodge", which is only a 7-minute walk from Rusutsu-Ropeway, you feel like the emperor in WinterWonderLand, or as they say at the entrance to the Dolomites: "like do Fokk in Kobis" And if you haven't satisfied your hunger for fresh powder snow during the day, you can even treat yourself to a few turns under the floodlights. We are here next to the national park of the world-famous volcano - Mt. Yotei - strategically positioned, Rusutsu's side and backcountry reveals itself as the most snowy and varied mountain landscape that Hokkaido has to offer. While Niseko may be the most famous ski resort in Hokkaido, our trip to Rusutsu promises an unrivaled powder adventure beyond imagination. Led by our guides, who have lived there for several years and know every possible variant and almost every pillow there, we have the advantage of not having to share our powder lines with many people.

Even if the entire terrain would be too tracked, Rusutsu and the neighboring area of Shiribetsu Dake with its light birch forests offer more than enough options for touring and hiking to find fresh powder snow. If there is a sunny day without snowfall during our trip to Japan, the highlight is hiking Mt. Yotei, which is an impressive 1860 meters high. We can climb these 1500 meters in about 5 hours and require a certain level of basic fitness. We actually like to go to a traditional Japanese restaurant before going to one of the various hot springs/onsen.

Arrival and departure:

Everyone has to organize their own flight to Japan/Sapporo/Chitose, it is only important that you land there no later than 03/02/24 at 3:00 p.m. After your arrival at Chitose Airport (Sapporo) there are stands directly on the airport grounds Buses available until. These buses, which cost around 25 euros and include luggage, will take you through snow-covered landscapes straight to Rusutsu in around 2 hours. Our all-ride shuttle will be waiting for you there by arrangement and will take you to the Cloud 9 Lodge where you will be accommodated in two rooms. The lodge is only a 7-minute walk from the lift. We chose this lodge with a slightly higher standard because, according to our experience, good sleep and comfort are important in order to develop your full potential in the activities. We start the last day on February 11th, 2024 with a leisurely breakfast. Depending on the flight time, there is also the opportunity to relax in the hot springs before everyone takes the bus back to Chitose individually. where he begins his journey home.
